Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the world's most widely recognized red wine grape varieties. It is grown in almost every major wine producing country and cant withstand cooler temperatures as the grapes are said to be thick-skinned and therefore have the ability to resist frost. Cabs range from medium-bodied to full-bodied and are characterized by their high tannin content which serves to provide structure and intrigue while supporting the rich fruit characteristics. The aroma of blackcurrants is one of the most distinctive and characteristic elements of Cabernet Sauvignon and is present in virtually every style of the wine across the globe. Styles from various regions and producers may also have aromas of eucalyptus, mint and tobacco.
