Chardonnay is a white grape variety used to make white wine. It originated in the Burgandy wine region in France and it is now grown wherever wine is produced including England and New Zealand. The Chardonnay grape itself is very neutral, with many of the flavours commonly associated with the grape being derived from such influences as terroir and oak, making it perfect for producers to show the character of their vineyard and demonstrate the full art of winemaking techniques.
