Montepulciano

Montepluciano is a red wine grape variety grown in Italy. Importantly, it should not be confused with the Tuscan wine Vino Nobile de Montepulciano, made from Sangiovese and named for the village it is produced in. The grape Montepulciano is widely planted throughout Central and Southern Italy, most notably in Abruzzi. Montepulciano wine produces large yields and has moderate acidity with wines that are deeply coloured, imparting flavours and aromas of violet, cherry, wild berries, liquorice and tobacco.
