Chateau Cap de Mourlin is a Grand Cru classe estate located on the northern slope of Saint-Emilion. The soil of the 14 hectare estate is largely clay-limestone and sand on a layer of hardpan. The vineyards are planted with 65% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon with an average vine age of 34 years. Grapes are hand harvested, fermented in oak barrels and aged for 15 to 18 months in French oak, 50% new.
