Not to be confused with the other chateaux referencing the Bages plateau which falls between the appelations of Saint-Julien and Pauillac, Chateau Haut-Bages Liberal is one of the 18 estates granted Fifth Growth status in the 1855 classification. The 30 hectares of vineyard is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon and offers the opportunity to purchase a highly-regarded classed growth at an excellent price. Expect the wines to have the power and weight of classic Pauillac and the ability to enhance their standing with long periods of bottle age.
