Chateau La Tour Carnet is located in Haut Medoc, Bordeaux. The gravelly soils are very similar to that of the neighbouring appellations of Pauillac and St. Julien. Facing south/southwest, many of the hillsides` clay-limestone subsoils are covered in a thick layer of Garonne and Pyrenees gravel. It is on these large gravelly hills that you find the best vineyards. The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal maturity. Sometimes, only part of a row can be harvested while the remainder is picked a few days later, when the grapes reach perfect ripeness.
