Chateau Labadie

Chateau Labadie

Chateau Labadie lies close to the village of Begadan in the Medoc area of Bordeaux. The name comes from a block of vines where there was an abbey a long time ago - `Labadie` translates as abbey in old French. The vineyard is situated between the Gironde river and the Atlantic ocean, so it takes advantage of a particular climate which giove the wine a distinctive character. The vineyard of this family-run estate is divided into two very separate parts. clay-limestone soils, giving the wine good structure; and gravels, which add finesse and a certain fruitiness. The vineyards are planted with 42% Merlot, 51% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot.
