Located in the famous Medoc wine region, about 40 kilometers north-west of the city of Bordeaux, the vineyard of Chateau Latour belongs to the Pauillac appellation. The vineyard is 78 hectares, of which 47 - the famous `Enclos` section - are dedicated to the production of the Grand Vin de Chateau Latour. The soils are gravelly with a clay-rich subsoil with 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot planted on it. As one of the four First Growths, Latour`s wines are in high demand and are renowned for their structured, powerful, robust character, that in the greatest years exude finesse and elegance.
