One of the oldest known Cognac houses, Delamain has been producing excellent Cognac since 1762. Unusually, the company produces no Cognac under the two lowest Cognac ageing specifications - VS and VSOP, instead focusing on longer aged XO Cognacs, and Cognac made specifically from grapes grown in the Grand Champagne area of Cognac - which produces the best and most expensive fruit. Delamain also chooses to dilute its Cognac to bottling strength using weaker, older Cognac known as `faibles`, instead of the more traditional water.
