Glenelly Estate
The Glenelly Estate is located in the Idas Valley, part of South Africa`s Stellenbosch region, on the southern slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain. It is the home estate of May de Lencquesaing, who previously owned the highly-regarded Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande in Bordeaux. This is no retirement home, but an ambitious project to make serious wines in one of the Cape`s most beautiful and best sited vineyard areas. There are three ranges of wine made at the estate. The `Grand Vin` is the signature blend of the estate, using Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and aged for 18 months in barrel.
