Moet et Chandon

Moet et Chandon

Claude Moet, a wine-trader from an old family resident in the Champagne region since the 14th century, founded his own house in Epernay in 1743. His grandson, Jean-Remy Moet, helped the house expand by opening it up to foreign markets in the 19th century. Jean-Remy Moet handed the house over to his son and his son-in-law Pierre-Gabriel Chandon. It then took on the Moet et Chandon name. The house`s vineyards cover over 700 hectares, by far the largest in the Champagne region. Moet et Chandon is today one of the leaders in the export game - the house sells over 80% of production to foreign markets. The latest advances in sustainable viticulture to preserve and protect the environment is one of their modern accomplishments.
