Domaine Patrick Javillier

Domaine Patrick Javillier

There is no denying that Domaine Patrick Javillier is one of the best producers in Burgundy; so it's a real coup for us to have been able to secure an allocation direct from their cellars in Meursault!

Founded in 1974 by Patrick, the Domaine is now under the watchful eye of his daughter Marion, who produces some of the finest wines in the appellation. The pair leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of greatness whether it be the Bourgogne Côte d'Or 'Cuvée de Forgets', Meursault 'Les Tillets' or their Premier Cru 'Les Charmes' and Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru.

Bourgogne Côte d'Or 'Cuvée de Forgets' 2018 | SOLD OUT

2.5-hectares of vines on clay soils, situated on the southern side of the Côte de Beaune.

"Quite a treat to see a price in two digits, even if it’s for only six bottles. Rather dilute, or delightfully juicy on the nose – depending on your point of view. But the palate offers Javillier substance in spades so I’d go for it. Especially since experience has shown how well Javillier whites age. A light note of white (apple?) blossom."

Drink 2020-2025. 16/20 points. Jancis Robinson MW.

Meursault 'Les Tillets'Meursault 'Les Tillets'

Meursault 'Les Tillets' | £50.10 per bottle

1.7-hectares of vines spread across 6 parcels with limestone and clay soils, located above Meursault near the woods. The flagship wine from the Domaine.

"The 2018 Meursault Les Tillets has a clean, well-defined bouquet with yellow plum, hazelnut and light waxy aromas developing in the glass. The palate is well balanced with orange rind and lemon zest on the entry. This is quite a phenolic Meursault, one that is well balanced with a complex finish befitting a vineyard like Les Tillets. Recommended."

Drink 2022-2030. 91/100 points. Neal Martin.

Meursault-Charmes 1er Cru 2018 | SOLD OUT

0.06-hectares from one of the best vineyards in the appellation. Extremely limited stock.

"Enticing aromas of lemon zest and green apple fused with almond and hazelnut undertones. Rich and round yet balanced on the mid-palate thanks to its creamy, luscious texture and core of further citrus fruit verging slightly exotic intertwined with uplifting, mineral-laden acidity. Bravo, Marion!"
