Ernst Loosen is without a doubt, one of Germany's iconic and enigmatic winemakers and developed his famous family estate, Dr. Loosen, into one of the best not only in the Mosel, but in Germany too.
At the same time, Ernst bought and fully renovated the JL Wolf winery in 1996, realising the extraordinary potential for creating exceptional wines in the Pflaz region thanks to the unique combination of the Mittelhardt micro-climate, the mineral-rich soils, and ancient vines.
From classic varietals such as Riesling and Gewürztraminer to Burgundian and Alsatian influences of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, I genuinely believe Villa Wolf makes some of the best value-for-money wines available from Germany.

Dry Riesling
Attractive nose of ripe lemon and crunchy green apple with a hint of chamomile. Vibrant and energetic on the palate with racy, fresh acidity that provides drive and focus, flowing through onto a core of further ripe, forward citrus and green fruits with added white pepper on the long finish.
Wachenheimer Dry Riesling
Lean and pure lemon citrus, peach, and apricot aromas. Clean and crisp on the palate with a lovely, almost creamy texture balanced by uplifting acidity. A touch more exotic fruit on the core; peach, apricot, and nectarine with a touch of spice.
Gewürztraminer
Aromatic and floral nose of peach, lychee, and rose petal. Super fresh on the palate with vibrant, zippy acidity that adds another dimension and an abundance of stone fruit and added spice on the finish seals the deal.
Pinot Gris
Enticing aromas of lemon citrus and white stone fruits with a touch of spice. Ripe, fresh and forward with lovely, bright acidity that flows into a core of further lemon with added tropical undertones.
Pinot Noir Rosé
Charming nose of strawberry and raspberry with a floral touch. Clean and crisp with vibrant acidity balanced by a creamy texture, followed by crunchy red berry fruit and a hint of spicy pink peppercorn on the finish.
Pinot Noir
Ripe forward nose of strawberry, red and black cherry fused with subtle smoky undertones. Medium-bodied with ripe, rounded tannins and lovely texture on the palate leading into further red berry fruits with hints of black pepper spice.
