Pinot Grigio
Pinot Grigio is the Italian name for Pinot Gris. Though the same grape, stylistically Pinot Grigio will often be fresher and lighter than wine labelled Pinot Gris, which will have an oilier, more full-bodied aromatic character. The two styles are so different they are normally thought of as different grapes. Pinot Grigio grapes are often picked early to retain their fresh acidity and are vinified in stainless steel. Best consumed young, they typically have flavours of apple, lemon and blossom.
