Little Rascal

Under the care of winemaker Geoff Thompson and produced in state of the art wine-making and bottling facilities, the Little Rascal range offer great quality, value for money wines, Little Rascal is a tribute to Lenny the wine dog, who is often referred to as the hardest working member of the winery team - a willing, enthusiastic companion with a great nose!

Victoria

By the end of the 1800s, Victoria was Australia's primary wine producer until production was eradicated by the dreaded vine disease phylloxera. Following extensive planting and re-planting over the past century, Victoria today is the most diverse wine region in Australia and probably the most exciting. In the north-east corner of the state producers in Rutherglen make some of the world's best fortified Muscat wines, while around Melbourne the Mornington Peninsula and Yarra Valley produce elegant Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from cool-climate vineyards. Further north the Great Western region is home to an Australian anomaly, sparkling Shiraz, while the Central Victoria regions of Heathcote, Bendigo and Goulburn Valley all deliver peppery, concentrated Shiraz wines. The huge variety of soils, climatic conditions and growing regions will see Victoria continue to diversify its output well into the future, with many producers looking to innovate further by experimenting with even more exotic varieties that suit their patch of dirt.

Central Victoria

Made up of a number of different official Geographical Indication (GI) regions, Central Victoria, as the name suggests, represents the large, varied swathe of land in the middle of the state of Victoria. The diverse landscape, from flat, dusty plains, to elevated mountainside locations gives rise to a full range of wine styles, and this region is home to many famous producers. In the flatter north of the region, hotter areas such as Bendigo, Pyrenees and Goulburn Valley are ideally positioned for producing inky, dense Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon along with full-flavoured Chardonnay. Further south, Heathcote is a cooler area, thanks to its position amongst the Mount Carmel Range and is famous for its Shiraz. Heathcote's dark, highly concentrated wines with fine tannin and a long, smooth finish are some of Australia's best gifts to the world. Other regions continue the diverse theme, and excellent Riesling, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc can be found in the areas that have the natural cooling effects of rivers, lakes or mountains.

Chardonnay

Produced in wine regions across the world, Chardonnay is a white wine producing grape, and is made in many different styles. From the lean, crisp wines of Chablis, to the exceptional dry Blancs de Blancs of Champagne and the buttery, rich, oaky wines of the warmer regions of California, Chardonnay wines exhibit a full spectrum of flavours and styles. As a fairly neutral grape, it is the land, soil, location, climate and winemaker that have the biggest impact on this famous grape.
