Arneis
Arneis
Arneis means `little rascal` in old Italian, and is a white wine grape that originated in the Roero hills of northern Italy`s Piedmont region, just north of Alba. The majority of Arneis produced comes from this region, and small quantities of plantings are also found in Australia, California and New Zealand. With a reputation as a bit of a troublesome grape to grow, hence the name, Arneis can produce very good wines with floral aromas and fuller flavour characteristics of apples, pears, and creamy hazelnut.
