Bonarda
Bonarda
Bonarda, aka Douce Noir, is a red grape variety that originated in the Savoie region in eastern France but it is now more commonly found in the Mendoza province of Argentina where it is second most widely planted variety after Malbec. The wine has an intense ruby colour with purple highlights. It has a red fruit character with succulent flavours of cherries, plums and redcurrants with a sweet spiced undertone. A very versitile and easy drinking wine with soft tannins, medium acidity and medium body.
