Colombard’s light neutral style makes it ideal for blending, most notable alongside Ugni Blanc and Folle Blanche in Cognac production, but also as a base wine in South America, western France and South Africa. Primarliy used in bulk wines, Colombard is also used successfully alongside Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay as a good value, entry-level bottled white wine with crisp fruits and good acidity.
