Garnacha
Garnacha
Garnacha, or Grenache is widely planted throughout Spain and Southern France where it needs the hot, dry climate to grow successfully. Soft on the palate, with spice and red berry flavours, its lack of acidity and tannin sees it being used most frequently in blends typically with Tempranillo in Spain and Syrah and Cinsault in France. Garnacha-based wines can develop complex, intense notes of blackcurrants, black cherries, and peppery spice in the right locations, and low yields tend to make better wines.
