Macabeo
Macabeo
Viura is a white grape variety widely grown in the Rioja and Catalunya regions of Spain and the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France, where it is known as Macabeo. Made in a range of styles, from sparkling to sweet, Viura`s versatility is provided by its moderate acidity and relative neutrality. The grape is mostly used to make mildly acidic, young white wines tending to be drank early or for blending with other varieties - in particular Malvasia and Garnacha Blanca in Rioja.
