Nero d‘Avola
Nero d‘Avola
Nero d`Avola is an important black grape to the island of Sicily, and the vines produce good yields of dark-coloured grapes that are at their best in warm, dry climates. Wines made from Nero d`Avola have deep flavours of blackberries, with peppery notes and firm, sweet tannin. The grape’s name comes from the town of Avola on the island`s southeast coast, and the wines are most commonly compared to Syrah/Shiraz, thanks to the similarity of their characteristics.
