Petit Verdot
Petit Verdot
Petit Verdot is a variety of red grape, principally used in Bordeaux blends as a minor component to add colour and structure. It is also attracting attention in the New World where it ripens more reliably in warmer climates and is made into varietal wines. When young, Petit Verdot`s aromas can include banana and graphite, with characters of violet and leather developing as it matures. Flavours most often include dense, dark fruit - blackberry, black cherry and black plum is typical.
