Petite Sirah
Petite Sirah
First planted as Durif in the Rhone Valley in the 1880s, Petite Sirah is the name given to a rare grape variety most often found in California and Australia. The variety produces small bunches of deeply coloured grapes, with high tannin and loads of fresh acidity. Often used in a blend to bolster the colour and structure of wines, on its own, it produces wines with dark blackberry, spice and chocolate flavours with a characteristic note of black pepper.
