Picpoul
Picpoul
Translating from the French pique-poul which means to `sting the lip`, this ancient variety from the Languedoc region lives up to its name with its lip-stingingly fresh acid and verve. Picpoul`s ability to retain its acidity in hot temperatures makes it ideally suited to the warm, arid conditions found in many parts of the Languedoc. Mainly grown in coastal areas Picpoul typically has flavours of tangy citrus, green apples and herbs, and is full-bodied, vibrant and fashionable.
