Pinot Meunier
Pinot Meunier
Pinot Meunier is a black grape variety and one of the three main grapes used in making Champagne, alongside Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. It is used in Champagne to add aromatic body and richness to a Champagne‘s final blend. To get the most out of the soft fruit and fleshy nature of Pinot Meunier it will be used in Champagnes that are best drunk young. Parcels of Pinot Meunier are found widely across France, but will normally be used in blended wines, rather than appearing on the label itself.
