Port Blend
Grown on the terraces of the Douro Valley in Portugal, around 80 grape varieties are officially permitted in the production of Port, but the majority is produced from a blend of five grapes: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesca, Tinta Barroca, Tempranillo, and Tinto Cao. Touriga Nacional is the most revered of these, producing structured wines with excellent tannin, adding body and weight. The remaining varieties will produce the round, fresh, soft components needed to make the blend harmonious.
