Semillon
Semillon
Semillon is a white grape that is used to make dry and sweet white wines and is most notably grown in France and Australia. The grape ripens early and in warmer climates acquires a pinkish hue. Youthful wines are citrusy and fresh, but good examples gain excellent complexity as they age and are deemed to be best drunk when at least five years old, with the best examples able to age 10 years or more. Older wines develop richer flavour, as well as a creamy, intense texture and deep golden colour.
