Tokaji Blend
The wines of Tokaj in Hungary are made up of a composition of several wines, primarily Furmint, Harslevelu and Muscat. Furmint accounts for around two-thirds of plantings in Tokaj, and provides fresh natural acidity which helps the wines age. Harslevelu provides aroma and richness, while Muscat adds delicacy and elegance. Local grape varieties Zeta and Koversolo are also permitted but rarely included. ‘Aszu’, the word for the dried grapes that make the famous Tokaji sweet wines, are generally Furmint.
