The most revered variety used in Port production, Touriga Nacional is also highly regarded for the quality of the dry red wines it produces, most notably in its native home of Portugal. Wines are deeply coloured with great fruit concentration and high tannin. Herbs, black-fruit and tea are all characteristics found in Touriga Nacional wines, and it is often blended to help soften its powerful, robust nature.
