Adegas Valminor

Adegas Valminor is located in the valley of O Rosal in Southern Galicia just across the border from Portugal. Valminor means "minor valley" and with mild temperatures year-round, abundant rainfall, Atlantic and Miño River influence and soil rich in minerals the location provides excellent conditions for growing and ripening. The winery was founded in 1997 with the Albarino grape is at the heart of production. Ultra-modern new facilities were quickly built and today the tradition of the wine growers is matched with state of the art technology to produce quality wines with innovative character.

Rias Baixas

Located in the western province of Galicia, Spanish white wine has a proud home in the exposed, coastal wine region of Rias Baixas. Thick-skinned, resistant Albarino is the predominant grape variety, which can stand up to the worst of the harsh maritime conditions that the Atlantic ocean can throw at it. Albarino was mainly grown for domestic consumption until the 1990s when the rest of the world's wine enthusiasts started to realise that there was something a bit special about the wines from one of Spain's more distant outposts. Tingling, mouth-watering acidity and intense flavours of floral citrus, underlined by a delicious mineral salinity are the hallmarks of Albarino, and the region's wines are now a wine list staple all over the world.

Albarino

Found mainly in Spain and Portugal, Albarino is a white grape variety that produces crisp, light wines with good acidity. The most well-known Albarino wines come from Spain`s Rias Baixas region, in south-west Galicia, where the grape thrives in the cool, maritime climate. Wines made with Albarino are often marked by stone-fruit flavours of peach and apricot, with alcohol levels of between 11.5 and 12.5 percent. Albarino is also seeing increased plantings in the United States, Australia and New Zealand.
