Champagne Henri Giraud was first and foremost a family of growers who have tended to vines in Äy since 1625, making it one of the oldest and smallest family-run houses. However, radical change came in the capable hands of 12th generation CEO, Claude Giraud, who decided to release a wine for the first time under the family name and the rest, as they say, is history! The house style is based upon tradition; fermenting and ageing in Argonne oak barrels (the local forest which Claude stresses adds to the `terroir` of their wines), giving them luxurious and full-bodied characters. Production is limited (ca. 250,000 bottles per year), which is small for a Champagne house and therefore demand is extremely high.
