Chateau Agessac is located in the Haut Medoc appellation of Bordeaux. The terroir of the vineyard is a ridge of Gunzian gravel with sand which is well suited to the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grape varieties that are grown at the Chateau. Cabernet Sauvignon is most widely planted with 53% of the vineyard, followed by the Merlot which is planted across 40% of the vineyard. On average the vines are 20 years old and are planted at a density of 6,666 vines per hectare producing robustly structured wines with good acidity and tannin.
