Chateau Branaire-Ducru
Chateau Branaire-Ducru is a fourth growth Bordeaux estate located in Saint-Julien and founded in 1680. The 60 hectare estate is situated on on deep gravel with overlaying clay soils planted with 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. The Grand Vin is made to age and has very high levels of Cabernet Sauvignon, which spends an average 18 months in oak. The second wine, Duluc de Branaire Ducru is made in a more accessible style, but still benefits from bottle age.
