Chateau Calon-Segur is located in the north of Saint- Estephe in the Bordeaux wine region. Wines of Chateau Calon Segur can be recognised by the heart on the label thanks to former owner Marquis de Segur declaring that his `heart belonged to Calon`. Today the Chateau is owned by the Gasqueton family. The 74 hectare estate vineyards are planted with 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. The soils of the vineyards are made up of sandy gravel with limestone and clay.
