Chateau Caronne Ste Gemme
Chateau Caronne Ste Gemme
Located in the Haut-Medoc appellation of Bordeaux, Chateau Carrone Ste. Gemme is managed by the grandson and nephew of Emile Borie who owned the estate in the 1900s. The chateau is situated on gravel mounds that lie on a subsoil of iron-rich sandstone to the east and clay to the west. The capacity of such a soil within the temperate and oceanic climate of the Haut-Medoc region helps the vignerons work on continuous improvement of the quality of the wines. The classic red Bordeaux blend grapes are grown on the estate, with recent investments into the winemaking including the building of a new wine making unit, the refurbishment of the barrel cellars and the creation of a temperature-controlled storage cellar.
