Chateau d`Yquem

Chateau d`Yquem

Chateau d`Yquem

The most famous dessert wine in the world? Probably. After an ownership history including the King of England in the Middle Ages, Chateau d`Yqeum has been making late harvest sweet wine since at least the late 16th-century. With grapes grown in perfect conditions for producing sweet wines, thanks to a gravelly topsoil and a moisture laden clay base, d`Yquem was classified a Premier Cru Superieur Classe Chateau in the 1855 classification. Planted with 75% Semillon and 25% Sauvignon Blanc and with a production of only 65,000 bottles thanks to a very judicious selection of only the best wines, this estate is a must for the serious sticky fan.
