Chateau de Valandraud

Chateau de Valandraud

Chateau de Valandraud

This small Saint-Emilion property, planted mainly to Merlot, is highly sought after and has developed a cult reputation in Bordeaux. One of the original ‘garage wines’, as its cash-strapped owners made the first vintage in 1991 in a rented garage, Valandraud has always strived to do things its own way. Their sometimes controversial approach has not always won them fans amongst Bordeaux’s wine bureaucracy, but their wines have done the talking and this tiny chateau is consistently released to wide critical acclaim.
