Chateau du Tertre

Chateau du Tertre is a one thousand year old estate located in the Margaux appellation of Bordeaux. The 52 hectare estate is owned by Eric Albada Jelgersma and has been since 1997. The vineyard is situated on high Margaux terroir with one of the most elevated gravel outcrops of the Medoc. The intense sunshine and light helps to protect the vines from late spring frosts and the stream running through cools the temperatures which is vital for vine development. The majority of grapes grown at Chateau du Tertre are Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
