Chateau Guadet
Chateau Guadet is located in the St. Emilion appellation of Bordeaux. Named after the the original owners of the estate, the label bears the image of Bordeaux lawyer and political figure Marguerite-Élie Guadet, who was found hiding in the underground tunnels beneath St Emilion during the French Revolution, before being taken to Bordeaux and guillotined. The 5.5 hectares of vineyard is based on deep clay and sandy soils on the limestone plateau of St. Emilion and is made up from 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. Modern technology and ancestral knowledge go hand-in-hand in this small vineyard, and it is produces wine of clarity and finesse.
