Chateau Kirwan
Chateau Kirwan
Named for Mark Kirwan, an Irishman who inherited the property in 1760 upon marrying the then proprietor`s daughter, Chateau Kirwan has been a feature of the Margaux appellation for several centuries. This is a wine that has always been about excellent terroir, and the loose gravel soils are perfect for growing the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes that make up the bulk of the Kirwan blend. Classified as a third-growth in the 1855 classification, Chateau Kirwan is renowned for making wines of classic Margaux character - poised, sophisticated and deeply structured.
