Chateau l`Evangile
Chateau l`Evangile is located in the Pomerol appellation of Bordeaux. Due to a curious geological anomaly, a long strip of gravel was formed on the southeastern part of the Pomerol plateau. Three vineyards share this rare terroir and Chateau l`Evangile is one of them. Owned by Domaines Barons de Rothschild since 1990, the estate has 16 hectares under vine, with 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. The wine is aged in 70% new barrels for 18 months. In good vintages, the bottles can be laid down for at least 10-15 years before becoming fully mature.
