Chateau Lamothe Guignard is located in Sauternes in Bordeaux. The vineyard is planted with 90% Semillon, 5% Sauvignon Blanc and 5% Muscadelle, with the vines having an average age of 40 years. Winegrowers Philippe and Jacques Guignard use traditional winemaking techniques using fermentation in stainless steel vats with the ageing process carried out in oak barrels. Annual production at Chateau Lamothe Guignard is 36,000 bottles. There are 17 hectares of vineyards here, occupying two distinct regions around the chateau. limestone-clay slopes descending to the Ciron, planted at 5500 vines/ha, and a gravelly plateau overlooking the town of Sauternes, planted at 6000 vines/ha.
