Chateau Larcis Ducasse
Chateau Larcis Ducasse
The Gratiot family have owned Chateau Larcis Ducasse, a St. Emilion Grand Cru Classe, for over a century. The Chateau`s terroir of clay and limestone soils on a south facing slope produces ripe grapes, which result in complex, well structured red wines with fresh mineral flavours. The estate of just over 11 hectares is planted with 79% Merlot and 21% Cabernet Franc. Viticultural methods at the estate are kept as natural as possible with low yields and grape varieties planted according to soil type. The grapes undergo a gentle maceration to avoid over-extraction and the wine is aged in barrels for 18 months.
