Chateau Leoville Poyferre is located in the St. Julien appellation of Bordeaux and has been owned by the Cuvelier family since the 1920s. The terroir of the area is made up of soils that are gravelly with clay which are typical of this region, and give each wine their characteristics and personality. The 80 hectares of vineyards is planted with 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc. The hands-on method the Chateau Leoville Poyferre uses has brought excellent results over the last fifteen years, guaranteeing the maintenance of the yield at optimum quality level.
