Chateau Montrose

Chateau Montrose is located in the St. Estephe appellation of Bordeaux. The Montrose name derives from the pink hue of the flowering heather covering the hillside. The 95 hectare vineyard in one single block, extremely unusual in the Medoc, is located on very well exposed gravelly land, next to the Gironde. This proximity to this vast body of water has a very smoothing climatic impact on the vineyard. The river and its tide mitigate and moderate the climate’s rigor by mollifying the frost and refreshing blazing summer heat. The vineyards are planted with 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Franc
