Chateau Poujeaux
Chateau Poujeaux
Located in the Moulis-en-Medoc appellation of Bordeaux, Chateau Poujeaux produced its first wines in the 19th century and took on real independence after 1921, when it was taken under the wing of the Theil family. Since 2008, Philippe Cuvelier have had control of the estate bringing a fresh approach to the estates wines. The Chateau Poujeaux vineyard lies in one single plot to the north-east of Moulis, on the gravel mounds of Grand-Poujeaux. The majority of the estate’s vines are Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, while Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot account for 10% of the total. The fruit from the different plots is managed separately so that the character of each can be fully expressed, giving Chateau Poujeaux its unique quality.
