Chateau Raymond Lafon
Chateau Raymond Lafon
Chateau Raymond Lafon is an 18 hectare estate in the Sauternes appellation of Bordeaux, producing luscious sweet wines typical of the area. 16 hectares are under cultivation, planted with 80% Semillon and 20% Sauvignon Blanc. The soils in which the vines are planted are gravel on clay-limestone base, helping hold the moisture required to develop the sweetness in the wine. The grapes are picked plot-by-plot in successive pickings. The botrytized grapes have an alcohol potential of 20%. The average age of the vines are about 35 years which produce around 8.5 hectolitres per hectare.
