Founded in 1988 by three families who decided to invest in a former state run winery, it was Englishman Philip Cox and his Romanian wife, Elvira, who have transformed Cramele Recas into one of the most successful wineries in Romania. They are now globally recognised for their impressive wines made from both international, and indigenous varietals, with an emphasis on hard work and with a modern, dynamic touch that offer excellent value for money wines… it is a winery you really can’t ignore!
