Domaine Feuillat-Juillot is located in Montagny (Côte Chalonnaise) and run by Françoise Feuillat-Julliot (daughter of the famous Mercurey producer, Michel Juillot). Françoise has now been joined by the next generation, with her daughter Camille, who helps with the 14-hectare Domaine of wonderfully sited, mainly old vines, spread amongst 13 different Premier Crus in the viticultural amphitheatre that is Montagny. They produce several wines including their introductory `Camille`, `L`Original` (which is aged in terracotta), as well as their highly-regarded Premier Crus `Les Grappes d’Or` and `Les Coeres`.

Spanning 26,000 hectares of vineyards and over 3,000 individual producers across nearly 100 different appellations, unlocking the mysteries of Burgundy for your drinking enjoyment can require a sense of adventure, but getting to know a few villages and their style is a good way to start the journey. Burgundy is broken into six distinct areas. Just south of Dijon, the Cote de Beaune and Cote de Nuits make up the larger Cote d'Or, considered the beating heart of Burgundian production and the focus of the fine wine world. Vineyards are divided into tiny parcels, and some growers may only own a row or less of vines in the most esteemed sites. Chablis, in the north, is famous for its crisp whites, while south of the Cote d'Or Cote Chalonnaise and Maconnais offer great value. Propping up the Burgundy map is the large region of Beaujolais, the place to uncover juicy, fruity, unoaked Gamay wines. For our Fine Wine Burgundy selection go to Fine Wine where you can choose from a top wine selection from the renowned villages of Puligny Montrachet, Meursault, Nuit St Georges, Gevrey Chambertin, and many more top Burgundian appellations.

Located close to the celebrated wine regions planted along the Cote d'Or escarpment further north, the vineyards of Cote Chalonnaise are scattered across the rolling landscape as growers and producers look for the best limestone-clay rich sites to grow their grapes. The climate is continental, with warm days and cool nights and the long summers provide optimum conditions for ripening grapes. Except for Bouzeron, which makes wines from the Aligote grape, the majority of the Cote Chalonnaise is planted with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Though the wines from Cote Chalonnaise may not always have the richness and complexity of their esteemed northerly cousins, they also don't have the price tag, making the region a great option for high quality, great value Burgundy wine.
View more wines from this sub regionLocated at the southern end of the Cote Chalonnaise region of Burgundy, the appellation of Montagny incorporates the villages of Buxy, Montagny-les-Buxy, Jully-les-Buxy, and Saint-Vallerin. It exclusively produces white wines made from Chardonnay, where the warm continental climate and limestone-concentrated soils help create full-bodied wines with fresh acidity. There are over 325 hectares of vines planted in Montagny, and the vineyards are between 250 and 400 metres high with marl-limestone soils on a clay base. Thanks to Montagny's warmer southerly location, the Chardonnay grapes rarely have trouble ripening, but growers are keen to ensure the grapes don't over-ripen, which leads to fat, flabby wines that lack concentration and intensity. Picking earlier and minimising oak helps, and the wines will typically have aromas of white flowers and citrus, with rounded flavours of hazelnuts and peaches, refreshing acidity and a well-structured finish.
View more wines from this appellationProduced in wine regions across the world, Chardonnay is a white wine producing grape, and is made in many different styles. From the lean, crisp wines of Chablis, to the exceptional dry Blancs de Blancs of Champagne and the buttery, rich, oaky wines of the warmer regions of California, Chardonnay wines exhibit a full spectrum of flavours and styles. As a fairly neutral grape, it is the land, soil, location, climate and winemaker that have the biggest impact on this famous grape.
