Fattoria di Bibbiani is an old wine estate, with a history of at least 1300 years and has been with the Donato family for over 150 years. The vineyard is located 20 kilometres west of Florence on the bank of the Arno river. Fattoria di Bibbiani makes their Chianti with neutral methods, seeking simple purity of fruit with techniques including stainless steel maceration and fermentation and Slavonian oak-ageing in 10 year-old barrels. Chianti Poggio Vignoso comes from a 20 hectare vineyard of Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Malvasia grapes, planted on largely yellow Tufo and Sandstone soils (90%) and a little bit of limestone and clay.
